We knew the family well and thought this was a lovely horse, just like his brother who is trained by Andre Fabre. He’s a very attractive colt

Frankel colt one of the top lots on first day of Tattersalls Book 1

A colt by Frankel featured among the top lots sold on the first day of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale yesterday (6th October).

Lot 148 was out of the brilliant racemare Dar Re Mi, whose first foal, a colt by Frankel's stablemate Oasis Dream, is the group-placed De Treville.

Consigned by Watership Down Stud, the colt was purchased for 750,000 guineas by trainer John Gosden on behalf of Al Shaqab Racing.

Gosden said: “We knew the family well and thought this was a lovely horse, just like his brother who is trained by Andre Fabre. He’s a very attractive colt.”
