Frankel colts once again among the top 10 at Tattersalls

There were two Frankel colts among yesterday's top 10 lots sold at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 1.

Lot 339, a Highclere Stud-consigned colt out of Model Queen, sold for 670,000 guineas to China Horse Club.

"We had a good look at all of the Frankels, and we felt that this colt was a stand out. I saw him as a foal and was taken with him them and I was pleased to see his progression as a yearling - he is a tidy, well-balanced horse," said China Horse Club representative Michael Wallace.

"The mare does a good job and we look forward to racing him."

Lot 230 (pictured), a colt out of Cheveley Park Stud's excellent racemare Heaven Sent, was purchased by Teddy Grimthorpe of Juddmonte Farms for 620,000 guineas.

"Obviously we're incredibly excited by Frankel and we've got some beauties on the farm," Teddy commented. "This colt is very like Frankel. He looks a speedy guy and comes from a great hotel."

"He's such a bonny horse," said Chris Richardson of Cheveley Park Stud. "He was a late-ish foal so I was a little worried the sale might come a bit quick. He has a lot of the characteristics of the stallion, a wonderful temperament and lovely balance. We're delighted."
