Atty Persse wins on debut
Atty Persse became the 11th individual winner for Frankel on Wednesday (14th September) after winning on debut at Sandown for his owner/breeder Bjorn Nielsen and trainer Roger Charlton.
Frankel's winners to runners ratio now stands at an impressive 55%.
Taken from European Bloodstock News, 15th September:
Bought back as a foal and yearling when failing to reach expectations at the sales, Atty Persse confirmed the confidence of his breeder with a professional attitude.
Tracking the leaders, he was shaken up two furlongs from home and led in the final furlong before staying on to make a winning debut.
He is the first foal out of Listed Pretty Polly Stakes winner Dorcas Lane (Norse Dancer), who was placed in the Gr.2 Lancashire Oaks, Gr.2 Ribblesdale Stakes and Gr.3 Prix de Psyche. The placed second dam, Waqood (Riverman), has produced eight winners from nine runners and she is a half-sister to the Joint Champion Three-Year-Old Filly and Gr.1 1,000 Guineas winner Harayir (Gulch; dam of the Listed Gala Stakes scorer and dual Gr.3-placed Izdiham) and the Listed Ballymacoll Stud Stakes and Listed Upavon Stakes-placed Min Alhawa (Riverman; dam of the Gr.1 Jebel Hatta winner Tryster, the Listed winner Mutasallil and the Gr.3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes-third Ajhar), as well as to the unraced duo Al Amlah (Riverman; dam of the Hong Kong Listed winner Fat Choy Ichiban and grandam of the Gr.3-placed Sakheart) and Desert Grouse (Gulch; dam of the Listed Alleged Stakes-third Clare Glen).
The third dam, Saffaanh (Shareef Dancer), was a winner at three and she is a half-sister to the Gr.2 (then) Falmouth Stakes winner and Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches-third Alshakr (Bahri), out of the Gr.1 Irish Oaks heroine Give Thanks (Relko).
