Plenty of cause for optimism ahead of next week’s sale

Frankel yearlings go on sale in Australia

Article taken from ANZ Bloodstock News, 1st April 2016:

With five yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Frankel (Galileo) could be about to make a significant impact on the Australian bloodstock industry, writes Patrick Halkett.

The unbeaten dual-champion, whose 14-race career included a remarkable run of nine consecutive Group 1 victories, has already caught the eye of buyers in New Zealand, with his first yearling to be offered in the Southern Hemisphere realising NZ$1,300,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale in January.

A bay colt out of Our Echezeaux (Zabeel), the yearling attracted the attention of a powerful syndicate formed by Adrian Nicoll of BBA Ireland. The partners also included Tom Magnier, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the Niarchos family and Apollo Ng of Hong Kong.

With such an influential group of buyers coming together to purchase the Frankel colt and plenty of positive feedback from Inglis Easter Yearling Sale consignors, Simon Mockridge, Stud Director at Juddmonte’s Banstead Manor, has plenty of cause for optimism ahead of next week’s sale.
