Toulifaut is winner number seven

Toulifaut became winner number seven for Frankel - and her sire's first winner in France - after winning the fillies' maiden at Clairefontaine on Saturday (9th July).

Setting off as the 7-5 favourite, she travelled strongly to win by half a length for owner Andrew-James Smith, trainer Jean-Claude Rouget and breeder Barronstown Stud.

Toulifaut (pictured as a yearling) is out of the Gr.3 winner and Nassau Stakes Gr.1 runner-up Cassydora (Darshaan), who is also the dam of three-time Gr.3 winner Ernest Hemingway. Further back, it is the family of leading young sire Zoffany (Dansili). Cassydora has a yearling filly full-sister to Toulifaut, who herself was unsold as a yearling at 285,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Sale last year.

Also at Clairefontaine, Last Kingdom made an encouraging debut to finish second, despite being badly left in the stalls at the start of the race. The colt was Frankel's first foal born in the USA and is surely a winner in the making.

Frankel is now seven winners from nine first crop runners.
