Frankel is tied with War Front and Galileo as leading sire in Northern Hemisphere by number of individual two-year-old Group winners

Winner number 15 for Frankel as Monarchs Glen wins at Goodwood

Frankel achieved his 15th individual first crop winner of the season when Monarchs Glen won the nine furlong maiden at Goodwood on Sunday (9th October).

Clear after two furlongs, the Juddmonte-bred colt - who was second at the same track last month on debut - was never seriously challenged and won by a length and a quarter. Fellow Frankel colt Count Octave (a three-parts brother to dual Gr.1 winner Treasure Beach) was back in third on his first racecourse appearance.

Monarchs Glen is out of Mirabilis, a Gr.3 winner and half-sister to Prix de Diane Gr.1 and Prix du Moulin Gr.1 winner Nebraska Tornado (who also has a Frankel two-year-old, a filly named Aspirer in training with Andre Fabre).

On Saturday (8th October), Frankel colt Frankuus became his sire's fourth individual Group winner when landing the Prix de Conde Gr.3 at Chantilly.

After this success, Frankel is tied with War Front and Galileo as leading sire in the Northern Hemisphere by number of individual two-year-old Group winners. He is also leading by percentage of two-year-old Group winners to runners.
